Joy Division

Perhaps one of the most interesting Joy Division bootlegs, this partial tape of the band's support slot at a benefit gig for the Stranglers was recorded by Paul Lewis of Wycombe Gigs. For one reason or another, he has failed to release the entire thing, and this tape is about 2/3s of the total. "Wilderness", "Shadowplay" and "She's Lost Control" remain unreleased. This gig ended in disaster, as the accidental activation of the strobe light caused Ian Curtis to have an epileptic fit. If one listens closely, you can hear him yell "Turn the lights off!" minutes before a crash - the sound of him collapsing back into the drum set - is heard.
